Johnathan J. "John" Lind Jr.
Johnathan Junior “John” Lind Jr., age 42, formerly of Berlin, passed away due to heart complications on Friday, June 25, 2021, at his home in Las Vegas.
He was born April 7, 1979, in Berlin, WI, the son of John Lind Sr. and Judith Smith. John was born with a rare congenital heart defect that resulted in three open heart surgeries and a massive stroke by the age of five. Despite the many physical challenges John faced, he courageously went on to lead a life-filled adventure. Following graduation from Berlin High School in 1998, John enlisted in the AmeriCorps program, an organization that serves directly with non-profit organizations to tackle the nation’s most pressing challenges. Following AmeriCorp, John held a variety of positions both in WI as well as NV. In 2010, Las Vegas, NV, became his permanent residence.
John enjoyed the great outdoors with his father and playing Texas Hold’em with his stepdad, “Goofy”. He had many interests and dared to be different from other’s expectations.
He is survived by his mother, Judy Smith; sister, Jessica (Jason) Stini; nephew, Crew; grandparents, Arthur (Rosemary) Behnke and Mary Smith; and aunt, uncles and cousins. John was preceded in death by his dad, John Lind Sr.; stepmother, Debra Lind; stepfather, Douglas “Goofy” Smith; and grandparents, Junior (Arlene) Lind.
There will be a Celebration of Life held on Friday, July 2, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Ground Round Patio, 1010 Cameron Way, Neenah. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin.
